Guidelines & Terms

  1. Anything discussed at meetings is 100% confidential.
    .
  2. When members offer feedback on your goal, please receive this with gratitude and humility — even if it doesn’t resonate. If someone’s feedback hits a nerve, this might a sign it’s worth investigating!
    .
  3. You’ll have one-minute to give feedback on each member’s relationship goal. Please wrap up when our Timer gives you the time-out signal. If you have a wealth of knowledge to share, feel free to offer your contact info so you can arrange a longer discussion outside the meeting.
    .
  4. Please  offer feedback on member’s goals rather than advice. When advice is given, the underlying assumption is that that the advisor “knows better” than the person at the receiving end. Feedback is an honest adult-to-adult exchange about specific behaviours and their effect.
    .
    Feedback =
I observe something you might not be aware of + I bring it to your awareness + I clarify why it matters + you decide what to do.
    .
Feedback example: “I noticed you talked more than others in that meeting and most people didn’t speak up at all, so we might be missing important perspectives. What do you think?”
    .
Advice is deceptively similar but fundamentally different.Advice = I observe something I think you can do better + I tell you what to do instead.
    .
Advice example: “I suggest you talk less in our meetings. Something you can try is waiting until everyone else has spoken before you chime in with your ideas.”
    .
  5. If you receive a member’s contact info, please do not share this.
    .
  6. Please refrain from expressing political, religious, or judgmental views at meetings.
    .
  7. Please do not make assumptions about, or use offensive terms terms to describe, others based on their astrological sign, age, gender/gender-identity, race, culture, spiritual/religious views, body type, or sexual orientation.
    .
  8. Please give members the freedom to have differing opinions and values than your own.  However, if a member makes a comment you find offensive, please calmly use this as an opportunity to educate.
    .
  9. Please don’t take yourself too seriously.  Let’s make this group fun and relaxed — without too many eggshells!
    .
  10. If you’ve made healthy lifestyle choices (e.g. veganism, non smoking, environmentalism, fitness, meditation, etc), we sincerely applaud this!  However, please don’t make other members feel judged or less-than because they don’t subscribe to your choices.
    .
  11. Please give feedback in an honest, respectful, and non aggressive manner. Before giving feedback, always ask permission.  If a member refuses to hear your input, please respect this choice.
    .
  12. Unwanted sexual advances will not be tolerated.
    .
  13. If you show interest in a member (as a friend or date), but the feeling isn’t mutual, please respect this choice.
    .
  14. Being late is sometimes unavoidable, but please don’t make a habit of it.  Also, arriving too early can be problematic. The best time to arrive is five to 10 minutes early so everyone has time to settle in and start the meeting on time 🙂
    .
  15. When a member is speaking, please don’t interrupt them. However, Ralph reserves the right to interrupt any member if they violate these guidelines, and the Timer can interrupt a member if they go overtime.
    .
  16. When you have something to say, please raise your hand.
    .
  17. Participation is optional.  If there’s any part of our meetings you’re not comfortable with, feel free to opt out.
    .
  18. Please do not eat food or drink alcohol at meetings.  This can lead to spills and some food scents might be offensive to others.
    .
  19. At meetings, we encourage members to be authentic and express their feelings in a genuine manner.  However, if you’re dealing with heightened levels of anger, anxiety, or depression, we ask that you bring this energy to a therapist instead.  They’ll be better suited to help you.
    .
  20. Please monitor your expectations and don’t rush the process.   It might take a while to change lifelong habits and ways of thinking. So please be patient with yourself and the process.
    .
  21. Please go out of your way to make new members feel welcome 🙂
    .
  22. At your 3rd, 5th, 10th, 15th, 25th, 40th and 55th meeting, you’ll receive a Membership Reward.  It’s your responsibility to keep track of how many meetings you’ve attended and to let Ralph when each anniversary has been reached.  Also, there are no refunds or exchanges for gifts offered.
    .
  23. Our meetings are NOT a scent-free environment. Burning incense and using Abundance Oil are essential elements of our Manifestation Visualization. We sincerely apologize to those with fragrance sensitivities.
    .
  24. Do not record or shoot videos/photos at meetings without explicit consent from Ralph and the member(s) being recorded or photographed.
    .
  25. Smoking is permitted on Ralph’s balcony.  However, please keep the balcony door closed at all times, don’t throw butts over the balcony, and please don’t stand near the air conditioner (or your smoke will be drawn inside).
    .
  26. When you arrive, Ralph may ask you to fill one of the following roles (feel free to refuse):
  • GREETER – to buzz guests into Ralph’s apartment and greet them at the door. The first guest to arrive will be asked to perform this task.  If a newcomer hasn’t read our Guidelines, Meeting Structure and How to Choose a Goal, the Greeter will give them a hard copy to look over before the meeting starts.
  • TIMER #1 – to set the timer to 20-minutes before each member discusses their goal.
  • TIMER #2 – to set a second timer to 1-minute before each member gives feedback on other members goals.
  • TIMER #3 – to set a third timer to 5-minutes for Ralph’s readings.
  • GIVEAWAY ELF – this person will give each attendee a nametag.  They’ll also give members an Intention Candle and Abundance Oil if they’re new or if their candle from previous meetings has burnt out or is lost or forgotten.
